Harvey describes Agents, Vault, Spaces, Knowledge and Contract Intelligence on its website. OpenHarvey focuses on contract workspaces, source navigation, configurable Skills and playbooks, and deliverable previews and downloads. It does not claim feature parity, and no controlled performance or accuracy comparison has been conducted.
What should teams evaluate?

Be precise about open source
Harvey has also released an open-source legal agent benchmark and open-weight model research. It would be inaccurate to say that Harvey has no open-source work. OpenHarvey publishes the application code for its contract workspace.

Evaluate it with one contract
Open the sample workspace, choose the supplier perspective and ask: “Review payment and acceptance terms against my playbook. Include source evidence, risk explanations and proposed revisions, and save a report.” Follow citations back to the original text, then check the saved file and download. Sample risk baselines are fictional; replace them with your business rules.
Self-hosting and operating costs
The application code is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only. Run it on a trusted single-user computer or configure cloud services using the deployment guide. Budget for application hosting and storage, model APIs, E2B sandboxes and your selected authentication service. Costs depend on providers and usage. Self-hosting the application does not automatically provide offline inference: remote models and sandboxes may still process task materials.
